As One Beat is a blast! It is a “Vocal Drumming” group (Katie is so excited to have developed this name & concept for AOH groups!), which is a lot like beat-boxing, for grades 2-12.
In small groups, performers learn various combinations of vocal percussive sounds, ultimately combining, to be performed at our concerts.
As One Sound is a “Sound Symphony,” comprised also of various small groups, combining percussion & sound balancing instruments, such as drums, bells, gongs, chimes, flutes, gongs & signing bowls. Performers will learn to synchronize these into a piece performed at our concerts, for the ultimate sound experience!
Grades 8-12 is explained below, while grades 3-12 rehearsals are weekly, directly after As One Melody & before As One Ensemble, on Wednesdays from 4-4:30 at UMCWV.
(Vocal Drumming and Sound Symphony are integrated into As One Resonance rehearsals for grades 8-12, with rehearsals at UMCWV on Mondays from 4:30-6:30). AOH would love to have your performer be a part of our community! Go to our ‘Join!’ page to join AOH now!

AOH also proudly offers exciting extension workshops & fun activities on Saturday morning from 9:45-10:45am, where performers rotate: community outreach projects, workshops in acting/improv, dance, ukulele, guitar & other, in-depth vocal training, theory extension & game days. Extra rehearsals near performance are also on Saturday mornings. Details provided on member login page once joined.
